Why transfer to UK Fostering?

In addition to recruiting new foster parents to help with the growing number of children in need of care and assistance, UK Fostering believes it is crucial to reach out to foster parents who are currently thinking about quitting fostering entirely. It would be such a pity for those kids who had foster parents to stop working in the field. While discussing their feelings with us, foster parents frequently express disillusionment at their perception of a lack of effective support. We advise you to consider switching from your existing agency if necessary.

At UK Fostering, we chat frequently with people who are thinking about returning to fostering after a break and would prefer to start over with a new agency. Several of our carers have already done this. Several foster carer households have lately returned to us because the quality of help they received elsewhere was not what they had hoped for.

Why not talk to us if you are thinking about moving? UK Fostering has an Outstanding Ofsted rating (in all areas and in all of the locations that we cover). We can give you a copy of the Ofsted inspection report for your area and have a more in-depth conversation with you about your specific circumstances.

Why switched to UK Fostering?

Since we recognise that caring for foster children is a profession, and because of the dedication and hard work foster parents put in, they are able to do all the incredible things they do. The following are some advantages of working with UK Fostering:

  • Excellent feedback: In addition to receiving an Outstanding rating from Ofsted, we have received a lot of positive comments from foster parents and local authority children's social workers who praise the level of care our foster parents provide as well as the assistance provided by UK Fostering supervising social workers.
  • Experienced foster carers may also pursue additional therapeutic-based training: This is in addition to our continuing regular foster carer training programme. In order to better support the difficulties your foster kid may be facing, you will be able to expand on your current fostering experience and knowledge as well as upgrade your skills.
  • While you're transitioning to us, you can access our ongoing regular training programme by clicking here. Together with this, we'll still have our approved foster carers. The majority of training is still done online, and many classes are recorded so you can watch them later if you can't make it.
  • When you transfer to us, foster carers can anticipate at the very least earning the same allowance as you do now: The amount of the allowance depends on the age of the kid and whether or not they have special needs, but as seasoned foster parents, you will also be paid more because of your years of expertise. If you are searching for a certain rate, such as your current rate, the support package you receive, etc., we would be pleased to discuss a specific package with you. Our large and competitive weekly allowances, as well as the extra payments we provide, may astound you!
  • Transferring while already hosting foster children: If we don't pay a higher rate, your children will transfer to UK Fostering along with you. In order to establish and maintain a clear knowledge of your child's needs while transferring to UK Fostering, a transfer protocol meeting will be held with you, UK Fostering, your child's social worker, and your former agency.
  • In all of our territories, an experienced management team: Early on in the transfer process, they will meet with you to provide you with information particular to your region.
  • Normally, each of our social workers works with fewer than 10 families at once: There is therefore plenty of time to help you.
  • After-hours phone service: Available in case you need to contact a social worker from UK Fostering for help and guidance during an emergency after business hours.
  • We hold meetings for local support groups: Some are found locally, while others can be found online. Also, we publish a Youth Post and a biannual newsletter for foster families.
  • Social gatherings: We set up gatherings so that carers can connect with others who share their interests, learn from one another, and build a support system.
  • Family outings: We also plan event-based activities for foster parents and their families, such a trip to a theme park or a year-end party. For individuals involved, these can support the development of wholesome relationships and experiences.

We organise special support gatherings for foster parents' own children where they can interact with peers from other foster families. Foster carer's support groups for birth children.

Having access to expert guidance We understand that juggling a hectic schedule with the more practical parts of fostering can be challenging. As a result, each of our foster parents and their families has direct access to the following resources, which are available to anybody residing in a foster family and can have a significant impact:

A bookkeeper

A legal counsel

An educational consultant
